S.M. Wiggins Dear S.M. Wiggins, This is in reply to your letter dated March 20, 2000, (Ref: 1070, MMSB-12). That letter declined my Feb. 7, 2000, request for two 2nd Combined Action Group Unit Diaries from the Vietnam War. However, both the USMC Archives Section in Washington, D.C., and the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Mo., have answered my requests for Unit Diaries by writing that those documents are available from the Records Service Section in Quantico. They even provided the mailing address. In addition, Ron Scott of the Records Service Section complied with my June 13, 1999, requests for 2nd CAG Unit Diaries (see enclosures), sending me those documents for March and September, 1970. Unless there has been a policy change at the Records Service Section, I do not see why the additional Unit Diaries cannot be provided. If there has been a policy change, I would like a copy of the new policy with the name and title of the person responsible for the change. I am not seeking information about myself, but the last names and initials of the men I served with in Vietnam. We are trying to find former members of 2nd CAG for a reunion, but some are impossible to find because they are remembered only by partial names or nicknames. Accurate names and initials would make our search feasible, using the Internet and other resources. Therefore, I am renewing my request for the April and May, 1971, Unit Diaries for the 2nd Combined Action Group, IIIrd Marine Amphibious Force, Republic of Vietnam. Best wishes,
