Most of these “named” locations were frequently used as “night ambush” or “day haven” sites.
One spot along the trail by the river was called, simply, “The place where the two boots got killed” after two new guys who fell victim to a command-detonated booby trap. Here’s a partial list of those nicknames in no particular order:
