2nd CAG armorer Paul Ledbetter visited many CAPs and CACOs to service and repair weapons. His photo collection includes this one of CAP 2-7-2. Since Paul Hernandez and Bob “Doc” Hipple are not pictured here, this photo was likely taken after they were wounded on Jan. 18, 1971. Willie Fulfer in the back row was wounded at the same time as Paul and Doc, but returned to the bush the following day. “Huck” Prock in the front row left CAP 2 for 2nd CAG on March 3.
Back row, L-R: Sgt. John Paige, New York; Casey “Country” Roach, Rialto, Calif.; Douglas J. Squire, Minnesota; Willie Nathan Fulfer, Weatherford, Texas; Glenn Trimble, Arp, Texas; Jim Wallace, Oviedo, Fla. (he replaced Hernandez)
Front row, L-R: “Doc” Day; “Okie” Starr; Dennis “Huck” Prock, Independence, Mo.; Larry Thomas, White House, Tenn. (behind Huck); R.J. Carrier, Sterling Heights, Mich.; unknown; Steve “Frenchy” Pelletier, Englewood, N.J. (leaning with hands on knees); Steve Maynor, Illinois.
