Several CAPs in CACO 2-7 had informal “interpreters,” Vietnamese kids who hung around the Marines long enough to pick up some English and translate when our basic Vietnamese failed us (often). This is a photo of Duong Van Dien, the longtime interpreter and mascot for CAP 2-7-2.
